How Can Botox® Help You?
Botox® is administered for various reasons including:
- Smooth wrinkles / Facial esthetics
- Relieve facial pain
- Alleviate jaw pain (TMJ)
- Calm headaches
Both Dr. Brown and Dr. Huguelet are members of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, dedicated to providing the most advanced non-surgical minimally invasive techniques for beautiful and total facial esthetics. They are both highly trained in the entire anatomy of the head and neck (as well as the oral cavity). They can administer your treatments with exceptional accuracy and precision.
Because Botox® is a temporary treatment, for your convenience, these treatments can be scheduled to coincide with your routine dental hygiene appointment.
How Do I Know If I Need Botox® Treatment for Medical Reasons?
During a consultation at our office, Dr. Brown or Dr. Huguelet may suggest this treatment for you if, given your medical condition and health, you are a good candidate. They will discuss and explain your options to you.
Is Botox® Safe and How Does It Work?
Botox® is an FDA-approved purified protein that is injected into targeted muscles and temporarily blocks nerve signals that cause muscle movements, essentially relaxing the muscle which reduces or eliminates fine lines and wrinkles. The use of Botox® is very safe, however, as with any medical procedure, there are possible risks and side effects to be aware of when using Botox®.
How Long Does It Take to See Results?
Within 3-5 days of the Botox® injection, the treated facial muscles become temporarily relaxed, causing the overlying skin to lay flat and unwrinkled. The untreated facial muscles contract in a normal fashion allowing facial expressions to be unaffected.
How Long Do Botox® Injections Take?
The injections only take a few minutes and also depend on how many total injections you will receive in one sitting.
How Long Do Botox® Injections Last?
Will remain effective for approximately 3 months. With regular treatments, Botox® can help train your facial muscles to reduce wrinkles and facial pain for longer periods of time.
Will My Insurance Cover My Botox® Injections?
Most insurances do not cover injections for esthetic purposes, however, we can look into your insurance if you are interested in using injections for medical purposes as recommended by Dr.Brown or Dr. Huguelet.
